Description
Upgrade your motorcycle's front-end performance safely and professionally. Genuine fork sliders are typically not built to accept high-performance aftermarket internals. Once original internals are removed, there is no mounting point left for a new setup.
Our Maxton Fork Slider Modification Service resolves this engineering hurdle, adapting your stock sliders to flawlessly house our premium SPR26, GP30, SD25, or SD20 cartridge inserts.
Why This Modification is Required
To install a Maxton cartridge, a secure mounting point must be created at the base of your fork. We precision-engineer this solution by:
1. Separating the factory stanchion foot from the chrome tube using specialised tooling.
2. Installing a custom, threaded Maxton insert into the bottom of the chrome tube.
3. Reassembling the chrome tube and foot, sealing them securely with high-strength industrial thread lock and adhesive.
Once completed, your modified forks feature a reliable, heavy-duty thread designed to screw directly into your new Maxton cartridge.
Key Benefits
• Seamless Compatibility: Unlocks the ability to run elite SPR26, GP30, SD25, or SD20 Maxton cartridges.
• Precision Engineering: Carried out by suspension experts using specialized tooling.
• Track & Road Ready: Reassembled to meet strict structural and safety standards.
⚠️ Important Service Notice
Factory chrome tubes and stanchion feet are permanently joined during manufacturing using high-strength thread lock and a locking grub screw. They are officially sold as a single, non-serviceable unit.
Because the factory grub screw bites directly into the steel thread of the chrome tube, a small risk exists during disassembly where this indentation can strip the softer alloy thread inside the foot. While rare in our workshop, if thread stripping occurs, the foot becomes unusable and must be replaced at the customer's expense.
Because of the high level of skill, heat application, and specific tooling required, we strictly advise against attempting this modification yourself.
