The new Maxton Monoshock Spring Compressor has been designed to make removing and replacing springs on shock absorbers quick and easy.

In racing applications being able to work on the shock quickly and efficiently is crucial, in qualifying sessions it can make a real difference to how you set your bike up. The Maxton Spring Compressor allows you to remove the spring in seconds, therefore giving you more options when trying to achieve the optimum suspension setting.

To change the oil an original equipment shock absorber you need to remove the spring first. In most cases you need a spring compressor to do this. The Maxton Spring Compressor allows you to remove the spring on most original equipment shock absorbers.

The Maxton Spring Compressor has been designed and manufactured 'in house' by our engineers, it is made from an aircraft grade aluminium alloy 6082 T6. All of the components of the frame of the compressor are then anodised to protect the product. The spring compressor has a very sturdy base, so there is no need to bolt the compressor down to a bench. This makes the Maxton spring compressor very portable, which is ideal for race teams. Because its machined from 6082 T6 it makes the spring compressor light weight and helps make it more portable.

The top collar of the spring compressor has an adjustable plate, this can be moved up and down to accommodate different length shock absorbers. The plate is held in place with two quick release pins, which can be removed and put back in seconds.

The top plate of the spring compressor has a purple insert in the centre, which locates the spring collar. The insert has an alloy outside and a plastic inside to protect the spring and spring collar. The spring compressor has been designed so you can swap the inserts to suit different size spring collars. We supply the spring compressor with the most popular insert, which covers 80% of shock absorbers, extra inserts can be bought or made to order if needed.

On top of the hydraulic jack there is a plastic cup which the shock absorber eye sits in. The plastic cup is designed so the bottom of the shock absorber self locates. This saves time when putting the shock absorber in the spring compressor. If needed different plastic cups can be supplied to suit different shock absorbers.
